Cool Melancholy People (London / Polydor 1994)

It's a new beginning for Marcella Detroit after her Goth-Electro dynamic duo Shakespears Sisters disbanded not long ago but sooner this independent multi-instrumentalist female musician realizes that there are more to be created in this short life.
The result is Jewel; a stunning debut from the "half-weird" Marcella-self written songs and melodies with the help from producer Chris Thomas making a well combinations of pop soda, folk rock, Motown soul classics and modern alternative of the small waved of 80's grooves on it.
The first and radio hit single I Believe really did good for the opening introduction to this record, while other tracks not to be ignored are here - I'm no angel, Primadona, You don't tell me everything or the persuaded cover of Sly Stone's finest hit I want to take you higher or her duet with Sir Elton John on Ain't nothing like the real thing will reign this debut as a powerful step for another brighter musical success for this girl.
