Scoring the success with The Fugees doesn’t righty enough
for Wyclef Jean to move aside doing nothing. No stop for the red lights tonight
as Wyclef finally got his first chance on his “empire stikes back” – The
Carnival. Combining the inspirations from rappers, folk and blues rockers by
creating cool tracks like Guantanamera, Gone til November, Sang Fezi or We
trying to stay alive; talking about the soaring political baseground around stories behind the illegal
immigration, poverty and minority communion.
(Luckily, still) there’s also some helps from Praz, Lauren Hill and DJ’s to
make a respectable record which collaborated the soul circus arts. The result
is the record which containing the easy freedom anthems and adoration for the
lost heroes from his past life.
