Cantos De Pilon Step (DGC 1997)

Not trying to make the same mistakes in a dogtail war, Krist Novoselic started another band this time recruits his chosen singer Yva Las Vegas a Venezuelan born vocalist, bass player and some additional names like William Rieflin (percussions) or Paul Cox (mellotron) to Peter Buck from R.E.M to recording Krist's new project album with the same name Sweet 75. The music sounded near to the softer side of Alice in Chains using a bit too much parfume and little bites from Led Zeppelin or Jesus Lizard modern demos that shall shocking more fans of Nirvana because this group put their Punkish attitude in front carrying the Hard Rock influences on the back seat as it rolls. Yva's voice which having a bit similarity to Courtney Love and some of thus licks and riffs reminding you of the gasp ghostly of Kurt under his territorial streesed out torture with the lyrics of Novoselic clearer ambigues toward Fetch or Bite My Hand to Red Dress or La Vida just like a parade of beating bass from retro old rock catalogs brought back to life by an adventurous oportunist in a Shoegazing Indie Folk formats.

There's nothing wrong here but a new Latin Swing tones struck a nerve.
