B.M.W Histeris (Virgo Records 1993)

This is the new generation of Indonesian Rock who getting their names bigger than most of rock bands in the early nineties on Indonesia hard music charts but already formed since the late eighties by the two sleazy brothers Kaka and Bimbim on Potlot, Jakarta followed by the exchanges of other members until the band - Slank finally settled with three permanent members beside Kaka (vocals) and Bimbim the drummer - Pay on guitars, Bonky (bass) and the eccentric keyboardist Indra Q making their protest lyrics and anti-establishment music working its way to the top of the Pop culture genre in the country. Straight and honest with no bullshit music influenced by wider fave artists from the members themselves like The Rolling Stones, Bob Marley, Blues pioneers and Hard Rock really making this band's sound couragous and bold for taking part in sicoal issues and class-actions around Indonesia and with this third recording Piss; Slank finding themselves becoming the agent of changes or the main microphones for youth elsewhere on this tropical archipelago place. From the instability of imbalance power to the people's voice, from the complicated relationships to the arrogancy of the riches - all performs in a total way of Rock form attractive and sleazy but on the same time wiser and awesome to listening through the popular tracks like the silly daydreaming story on Mau (Beli) Tidur, Reggae Pop sarcastic love song on Begitu Saja or Main Monopoli which talking about the deeper gap between the have and the have nots in big cities around Indonesia or Tepi Campuhan that touching the idealism for saving the natural beauty from greedy businessmen and so on. The only thing to be regret is these guys used to be "goddamn cool" back on those days of being free-idealistic men, accute drug addicts and booze party rather than not making good music no more.

Awesome "Piss" Album !
