Gator Blood Submariner (Mercury Records 2012)
Born Mark Freuder Knopfler as with his brother David, established their semi-legendary Pub Rock group - Dire Straits before then going solo after plenty quality times recording, touring, rocking the stages and playing almost everywhere before Mark decided to take time to being partly from his hiatus band persuing solo projects. This most new solo album recordd and releasing by Mark Knopfler should be filled with wiser wisdom as the fans knew him since the beginning to be one of the most talented Scottish born musicians/artists with the sense of good lyricists and a very talented rock musician. As the singer, composer, producer and song-writer; this seventh solo studio full album from him on the new millennium must have been awaited by lots of Dire Straits and himself fanbase out there and their waiting is payable very well by this Privateering record muscling itself with the bath of clean baptizing water of Blues Rock and traditional Folk-Country with a soul - the powerful medium record that would tranquillizing many fans old and new to once again being amaze by Mark's talents and ambitions for recording his newest efforts on this one. Many great additional musicians coming forward and lend him hands like Richard Benntt on guitars, bouzouki toJim Cox on organ, Guy Fletcher (keyboards, string arrangments), John McCusker (fiddle, cittern) or Michael McGoldrick (whistle, uilleann pipes) to Phil Cunningham (accordion) and many more making this album awesomely great in enriches sounds and outdoor panorama atmosphere. One will definitely aprreciates these twenty songs recorded on this album like for example
Keep Calm and please be quiet to listen for awhile ...
