Lonely Everlife Reign (Enigma Records 1988)
Sunday wouldn't be perfect for Pop-Metal lovers without the cranking loud of Stryper's fourth album releasing In God We Trust that announcing christianity as hard as a rock and rocking harder since than along the Pop culture and "hairspray"society of Heavy Metal music. Strong influences based on the Holy Bible as this band from Orange County, California made their touch in through the hard efforts and critics around them but surviving quite a few years on the ringing league with other names such as Bon Jovi or Ratt as Stryper's consistency do proudly heralding like church bells on Sunday after several good releases from them hits the music stores. In God We Trust actually talking about the hard lives, the problems and solutions as well as the sounds that promising brighter future for Pop-Rock in general but not for the Hair Metal genre which later will totally shaken off their roots by the new emerging force of Grunge. Consisting of lead vocalist and guitar player Michael Sweet, Robert Sweet on drums and Oz Fox on lead guitars and backing vocals while the additional bass players and keyboardists rent for guarding the band's rhythm sections during the recording sessions equalizing the great recording for this one as the finest tracks written and can cranking your "christian" stereo a bit harder in loud volumes plus some ballads too of course like Keep The Fire Burning, Always There for You, It's Up to U to The World of You and I or I Believe in You. Agree or disagree; this album sounded just a rocking arena instead of being just a cheesy christian rock music performance.
Whether for God or Money ...
