From the solitude sand dunes covering most parts of Sahara desert surrounding Tunis came along these finest Progressive Metal acts - Nawather. The sextet piece band with the unique sounds from the combinations of Eastern traditional music and Symphonic Heavy Metal consisting of natives Tunisian rockers - the duet vocalists Raouf J Occulta and Ryma Nakkach backing up by Yazid Boafif on guitars, Hichem Ben Amara (bass guitar) and brilliant Saif Ouhibi behind the drumkit with Nidhal Jaoua on qanun presenting the strangest sounds behind thier wall of Metal progressions in diversity experiences to whom ever got listening to them. Surely moving in some parts of flowing religious messages but totally seculer, Nawather might be sounded perfect as an example of a native rock band which didn't losing their heritage roots and distinctive musical performance even when it has to be combined with Western inflicted Modern Progressive of Heavy Metal sounds in here on this first release from the band themselves - Wasted Years. For some people on the West this record probably might a bit strange and annoying at first try but after that you would definitely feel comfortable for being spoiled by the great choices of mysterious Middle East Comforts with sensual vocals and seductive music in balancing of the band's metallic sounds as the sophisticated metal tracks go on and on from Falling Down The Slope to Broken Winged Birds to Sucubbus Romance; all sounded heavy but artistic, no one will ever let go the chance to having them on their stereo again.
