Reasonable to be liking by many Alternative Music listeners and own fans of the both his self Indie Rock band or his dad's bigger name and legacy; vocalist, guitarist and bass player Joe Sumner also known to be the son of The Police frontman Sting hand in hand with two of his friend drummer Pete Willhoit and guitarist Seton Daunt forming Fiction Plane as a trio whose exactly (like it or not) shall reminding most people of the heavier version of The Police going on through this Left Side of The Brain album released as these band's second efforts so far. We should know and respect about how hard Joe Sumner tried to wrote his own materials and composing his own brilliant ideas of tones into music - personally and original but what that can be heard from most of their repertoir and composite combination as Fiction Plane might sticky and harder to be released from over the bigger shadowy legend names of Sting and The Police even we cannot entirely blaming Fiction Plane for copying a great band but outside these group skills and groovy mix of Hard Rock and Progressive; Joe's vocals really to nearly similar like young Sting version singing Alternative Indie Rock songs. But luckily most of the listeners and fans choose to accepting Fiction Plane in a very warm welcome not only for their fresh new looks but also for the good old nostalgia imagining The Police hitting the stage for the first time of their early years. Go listening to It's a Lie, Two Sisters, Cold Water Symmetry and Drink with no comparison - just enjoying the neat and seducted Prog-Rock performances.
