Depth Charge Ethel (Anti- / Mute 2007)

Grungy Garage Rock metropolis unity of singer/visioner Nick Cave with the multi-instrumentalist Warren Ellis Aussie-British project and this time joining by Martyn P. Casey on bass, guitra, backing vocals and Jim Sclavunos (drums, percussions) releasing the eponymous gear debut with the same name - Grinderman as the band portrayed themselves as a greenish Macaque which symbolizing the wild and free spirits of nature. Mostly mixing the blends of Bluesy, Folk, Goth Rock and Alternative syncronicity syndrome effects that could making the audiences to be possessed in trance through the ambient or the buzzing loud distortions or the haunting hypnotizing lyrics and spoken words influenced by the Heaven-Demon connections stories and daily issues. One will fading into the dark music and Voodoo-like tempos seducing anyone to switching sides or back-stabbing their siblings because of the power claws of power, money and women combines. Grinderman objectively reacts to the focused degradation of mankind whose legalizing the illegal things using the weaker man-made laws as in any sin-made flesh evildoers did. This record is like a late romantic redemptions releasing that contains many good tracks such as No Pussy Blues, (I Don't Need You To) Set Me Free, When My Love Comes Down to Get it On.
... Repent later cause you're too damn late - mate.
